The philosophy of the General Chappie James Leadership Academy is an academic institution with a three-pronged approach. Its initial goal is to assist the student to best prepare for pursuit of their academic and vocational goals; secondly give students exposure to various career choices, and finally to provide order, structure, and organizational skills to young men and women. Serving grades 9-12, we provide a viable option for at-risk students with a flexible half-day program with a personalized learning plan. A certified teacher is on site to assist with our computer-web based program. Students have the opportunity to earn up to 10 credits per year. All graduates receive a diploma sanctioned by the Ohio Department of Education. Students must work or volunteer the remainder of the day.

- Oversee work/volunteer portion of the curriculum
- Maintains the classroom environment and disciplines in an orderly fashion conducive to good learning

- Facilitate collaboration and communication with parents/guardians
- Comply with school policies and procedures
- Required to attend and/or participate in such other activities as directed by the Principal such as: parent-faculty nights, faculty meetings (before or after school hours), assemblies, commencement exercises, fundraisers, chaperoning student activities, provide guidance for students, participate on faculty committees, study and help resolve CJLA problems, and participate in the preparation of courses of study such activity demonstrates valuable support for CJLA at large
